Many times opponents have stated that COBOL is dead, but still new COBOL-products are published. New products are only developed when they are sold; there is no better prove that COBOL is still used a lot. But recently the market is shaken. Old suppliers are taken over by the competition, new ones see opportunities and come to the market with innovative products. Sorry opponents, but you don’t get rid of COBOL yet!

Computer Associates	With CA-Realia II you can maintain your mainframe COBOL application on your PC.
Envyr Corporation	Here continuation and modernization of Data General's ICOBOL is in good hands.
Fujitsu Software	Very modern COBOL technology; the first with .NET support and Visual Studio integration.
IBM	The oldest and biggest supplier of COBOL tools.
LegacyJ	Combines the power of the old COBOL with the power of Java.
Liant Software	RM/COBOL was and still is a strong brand name, already more than 25 years. (Today owned by Micro Focus)
Micro Focus	One of the oldest vendors, offers the widest portfolio, certainly after the acquisition of Acucorp and Liant.
theKompany.com	Very low-cost development environment for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.
Veryant	The latest vendor. Concentrates on the integration of COBOL with Java.

Cevela MX COBOL	Simple Windows compiler translating COBOL code into C code.
COBOL for GCC	A free GNU COBOL 85 compiler. Still under development.
Fujitsu COBOL V3	After registration free for students.
OpenCOBOL	Also a GNU COBOL project. Still under development.
TinyCOBOL	Another GNU COBOL project. Runs on different platforms.
